The newest member of the family at the Australia Zoo, an eastern grey kangaroo joey, was named by the Prince and Princess of Wales' three children.
In an Instagram video from the family zoo on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, conservationist, wildlife photographer, and TV broadcaster Robert Irwin presented the newcomer to the world on Friday.
Gidday, it is Robert Irwin here with a couple of my buddies, he wrote in the post, which was also shared with William and Kate's official account's more than 17 million followers.
The late Steve Irwin's son claimed that his pals, the Wales family, helped name the zoo's beautiful baby joey while sitting amid a group of amiable kangaroos, which he referred to as Australia's national symbol.
Cwtch, which means cuddle in Welsh, is the ideal name for a joey kangaroo since, at this age, they love to snuggle and spend most of their time inside that pouch with their mum.
The youngster protruded his drowsy head from his mother's pouch as if on cue.
Irwin continued, I want to thank Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte in particular for their assistance in selecting this little one a beautiful name.
Less than a week has passed since the Prince and Princess of Wales posted a brand-new picture and video of Princess Charlotte on her eleventh birthday, which were both taken during the family's Cornwall Easter vacation.
In celebration of their 15th wedding anniversary, William and Kate recently posted a laid-back family photo with Charlotte, George, 12, and Louis, 8.
The Earthshot Prize, an international program that honors climate leadership and problem-solving, was founded by Prince William, a conservationist.
In addition to becoming an Earthshot ambassador, Robert Irwin has worked with William on other conservation initiatives.
Cwtch (pronounced "Cutch") thanked the Wales family for supporting Australia Zoo's wildlife conservation work in the film that introduced him.
It is crucial that we protect all of our wildlife, especially the iconic kangaroos.
Cwtch is now a proud member of our family at Australia Zoo since these guys perform a very vital function in the Australian bush and out there in the environment.
In addition to having Prince William's backing during the 2025 season of Dancing with the Stars in America, which he and pro partner Witney Carson finally won, Irwin was recently confirmed as the host of a new US reality television program called Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro.
The prince sent a video message to the dancers during rehearsals, joking that Irwin was needed at the 2025 Earthshot Awards in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, even though his twinkle toes are going off elsewhere.
A few weeks later, William congratulated the young wildlife fighter for carrying on his father's legacy in a video message greeting visitors to the 2025 Steve Irwin Gala in Brisbane.
The prince remarked, We could not have asked for a more devoted and passionate ambassador in Robert—and he is not a terrible dancer, either.
